Stop being Married living as roommates
Allen and Taila Wagner are
both Marriage and Family Therapists who run a successful practice in Los Angeles. We cater mostly to high-performance individuals. Included in this demographic are heads of an industry at the top of their fields in business, entertainment, and technology. Allen and Talia’s focus is on relationships, internal and external, including the relationship they have with themselves. The Wagners assist clients in moving past their own limitations to do the self-work necessary to create real-life possibilities in reaching their desired goals.
Times Change
In today’s climate, as the old business model is floundering, entrepreneurship is more important than ever. Some of us see this changing tide and jump right in the workspace. Some individuals in society are confident abilities to change the world, while others lag behind. Often may are uncertain and unsure of how to push themselves forward in a changing landscape. Allen and Talia’s have seen while all individuals are capable of amazing feats, many people allow the narrative in their heads to stop the momentum of success.
Mind Talk and Expectations
It is often our own mindset and internal negative self-talk that serves as a barrier to reaching fantastic achievements overall. Each individual has great ideas but let fear and trepidation discourage and derail from making massive strides forward. We dwell on past failures and self-doubt over our abilities eat away at our motivation and drive. We focus on the problems rather than moving forward towards solutions.
Not only is this true in the professional realm, but it is also often very evident in our home lives. When the relationship with our significant other flails and becomes lackluster, not only does it have a cascading effect on other areas of life, but we allow it to rob us of possibilities and growth. People resign themselves to just dealing with the status quo and do not take the steps to remove the obstacles in their path and build that spectacular life they dream about.
We go into more detail about this phenomenon in romantic relationships in our new book, Married Roommates: How to go from a relationship that just survives to a marriage that thrives, and would be happy to send you a copy.
During the show we discuss improving their chances for relationship success, teaching them to create their own advantages and propellers forward by focusing on what stops them internally from making their professional and personal goals a reality.
