Financial Freedom?
Follow this formula now.
When you think of the words financial freedom, what comes into your mind?
House on the beach? Or maybe in the mountains? A brand new car? Setting your own schedule every day so you can do whatever the hell you want to do, not what you have to do?
For the last 28 years, number one best-selling author, counselor and life coach David Essel has been helping hundreds of people reach financial freedom, but it may be a little different than what you think.
David shares the formula for financial freedom,
Anyone can achieve if they’re willing to do the work.
“For 24 years I’ve taught a course on financial freedom, it’s 10 weeks long, and the success stories are out of this world. One couple, in their 40s with children who had never owned a home, took this course and within six months had saved $30,000 to their ultimate surprise, and were able to purchase their first home. I’ve never seen two people more ecstatic in my life, and they should be. They did the work.
But it wasn’t till about 10 years ago, when I interviewed Harv Eker, author of “Secrets of the millionaire mind“, that I started to add a formula that he taught me, to my well-established financial freedom program, a formula that anyone can follow in order to figure out what they need to do regarding expenses and income to become financially free.
Coursework, for financial freedom.
“Financial freedom is emotional freedom around money. It’s not about earning a certain income, but it’s about having a balance between income and expenses so that when that unexpected dental expense comes up, there’s no stress to pull out your checkbook and simply write a check.“ That is the definition of financial freedom to David Essel.
In our latest book, a number one bestseller, “focus! Slay your goals… The proven guide to huge success, a powerful attitude and profound love“, I tell the story of an international filmmaker, who had made a lot of money over the years but had nothing to show for it.
Within 10 weeks following our course, he had radically changed his mindset regarding expenses and income, and a short period of time after that his wife let me know how thrilled she was that he was on a pathway to financial freedom.
So what is the secret formula for you to follow in order to begin the pathway to financial freedom? It has to do with charting both your income and expenses.
The Financial Lesson
What T. Harv Eker taught me was that when you get your expenses to be 50% or less of your monthly income, you are now on a pathway to financial freedom.
Another client that took my course, was absolutely shocked when she figured out that she was way off base with this financial freedom formula. She came in one week with the total for the month, earning about $3600, but when she compared her expenses to it, she was shaking her head. Her expenses came out to about $3400 a month, meaning she only had an extra $200 a month to save, invest etc.
So we had our work cut out for us, and quite honestly she didn’t believe she could change her lifestyle so dramatically that she would reach the 50-50 formula, where her expenses were no more than 50% of her monthly income.
Doing the Work
That would mean in her case, that expenses could not be more than $1800 a month if she was going to continue earning $3600 a month as income. But as I tell everyone in my course, you can do this, you’ve got to be patient, disciplined but you can do this.
Within 10 weeks she had cut her expenses to $2500 a month, with her income staying the same at $3600 a month. Suddenly, she had $1100 a month extra to invest, and or save!
She had no idea that she could do this, and the end result was dramatic. Her confidence went through the roof. As a matter of fact, several of her girlfriends when they saw the dramatic changes in her attitude about money, and the way she handled money, asked her if she would start to talk to them all once a week about the formula she was following to achieve the success financially she had finally reached.
The Steps
- 1- number one is to figure out what you’re earning on a monthly basis.
- 2- number two, is to figure out what all of your expenses equal out every month.
Step number three is to do the comparison. I don’t expect when you do this exercise, that you’re going to have a very good end result. Most Americans are extremely stressed when it comes to money.
But you can change. The above examples of individuals I’ve worked with prove my point. No matter where you are in life, you can start working today towards financial freedom. I always advise my clients. Before you start on increasing their income, reel in their your as much as you can.
Spending actions
If you don’t do this, and you just focus on making more money, the odds are you’re spending habits will continue to suck. Within 12 months you’ll be back right where you are right now.
Financial freedom is not only about earning more money, but more importantly, it’s getting an idea of where your expenses are going and cutting out the ones that are frivolous.
Many individuals who take David’s course, find out that on a monthly basis, they’re absolutely blowing anywhere from $500-$2000 a month on meals, entertainment, clothing and more. That will keep them strapped financially for the rest of their life. The great news! There’s a way out. Follow this formula, and you will be in a different financial situation possibly in as short as six months.“
